Sunday's Play By Play

So today's Play by Play is the Second Mission in Operation Cyclone: Counterattack
The objective is for both players to eliminate each other in 8 turns. For reason of unbalancing and next expansion allowing the Loth we decided to allow Alex to use it.
Setup

Turn 1 - This turn none of us volunteered LOS to a unit and was just a movement turn.

Turn 2 - This turn was the same as turn 1 we just moved into positions. Alex and I set up out artillery units. Bad part is Alex is the only one to  use his in this game.

Turn 3 - Next turn Rosie and the BBQ squad moved out. Rosie took out Alex's Ludwig with one shot and the BBQ squad did some serious damage to Sigrid and her laser squad and Stephan and his recon squad.

Turn 4 - This turn Alex went first and called an artillery strike on my Mickey dealing 3 wounds to it. Then I returned fire and killed all but his Mechanic and the Mickey moved behind cover. His laser grenadiers killed Rosie. My Bot Hunters moved into a tank trap. His Battle Grenadiers Shot at my Hot Dog giving them 2 wounds. My Hot Dog killed his Battle Grenadiers.His Luther shot the remaining wound on my Hot Dog. My Gunners killed the Panzer Killers. His Lothar shot my Pounder giving it 3 wounds but my command squad immediately took one of them off.

Turn 5 - My command squad took off another wound. Alex's Lothar popped out to try to shoot my Pounder again dealing only 1 wound and killing 3 of my Recon squad members. My pounder shot the Lothar killing it.

Turn 6 - Alex's used his Loth to pop out and kill my Mickey. I returned fire with my Bot Hunters killing it. The rest of my army moved in for the kill as Alex's moved into cover.

Turn 7 - My men moved closer as his Luther kept its distance from my Bot Hunters knowing I wasn't going to leave the Tank Trap. His luther shot at me but I made my saves. The rest of my army moved closer.

Turn 8 - My pounder moved and killed his Luther and killed some of the laser squad. His laser squad killed the rest of my Recon squad. My Gunners moved closer.The rest of my units killed his remain army.

Win goes to Me and my Allies.

Sunday's Play By Play

So today's Play by Play is the First Mission in Operation Cyclone: Standing on the Beach
The objective is for the Attackers to leave the landingcraft and make it to and hold a tile in the defenders deployment zone for 8 turns.

Setup

Turn 1 - Was just a move onto the board. Alex began on the landingcraft slowly moving off. I got 3 units on the table uncuding Joe and Rosie.

Turn 2 - More of my units entered the battlefield as Alex's men disembarked the landcrafts.

Turn 3 - Alex moved closer and my men waited for hime to get in range. MY Steel Rain entered the game. I used my command squad to call an artillery strike on his Ludwig putting 3 wounds on it. He returned fire killing 3 of my guys.

Turn 4 - My Pounder moved onto the table and blasted 2 wounds into Alex's Lothar. He returned fire not damaging it at all.

Turn 5 - My Hot Dog came onto the table. My pounder finished off the Lothar without taking any wounds. All of Alex's men moved to outside of the walls protecting my men.

Turn 6 - Alex started putting his men into the clearing and I lost my BBQ Squad but I took out most of a laser squad and just continued to have a stand still of who would make a move first.

Turn 7 - Alex brought back his Lothar using his Kommandotrupp. My Mickey came on the table. I used my pounder to do another wound on his Ludwig. He returned fire dealing 3 wounds to it. I killed Sigrid with my Bot Hunters. Then put 3 wounds on his Stephan. My Mickey dealt 1 wound to his Luther.

Turn 8 - This one was a just Alex realizing he needed to get to that square now. So he pour his men 1 squad at a time into my walls and tried to activate as many of my men as possible. My pounder killed his Ludwig and I killed his Battle Grenadiers and Recon Grenadiers. I didn't loose any whole squads this time but Alex won by using his Manfreds 1 Assault ability per game. As much as I tried I managed to only the squad killed but no wounds on Manfred himself.

Win goes to Alex and his Axis.

Sundays Play By Play

Sorry for the missing posts this week but blogger was down for a couple of days and I couldn't post anything until yesterday.

So today's play by play is the last one in the Operation Cyclone book, Evacuation. The objective is for the attackers to make it past the 4 squares. I was the attacker and Alex was the defenders.
Here is the setup.

First round was mostly move except I got a LOS from my Pounder to Alex's Ludwig and put 2 wounds into it.

Turn 2 I won the initiative and finished off Alex's Ludwig. With that Alex and I moved around mostly except for I did 5 wounds to his Laser Squad and Sigrid with my BBQ Squad and Joe.

Turn 3 I won the initiative and killed Alex's Laser Squad and Sigrid the moved behind cover. All the other units moved and positioned themselves to make a standoff of who is going to make the first move.

 Turn 4 Alex won the initiative and moved his Recon Grenadiers to engaged mine. He killed 1 of my Recon Squad members. My recon squad returned fire killing 2 of his guys. Then his Ludwig and Battle Grenadiers deactivated. My BBQ squad moved and killed his Recon Grenadiers.

Turn 5 Alex won the initiative and moved Alex's Battle Grenadiers moved and fired at my Pounder only putting 2 wounds on it. I returned fire but he made most of his soft cover saves. Only killing only 2. Then I he moved his Luther closer. I moved my BBQ squad to kill the remaining Battle Grenadiers. Then I moved my Hot Dog to engage his Luther and destroyed it. Game ends victory to me.

Dust Tactics - Regional Tournament - Groovy Gecko's Comics and Games - May 7th, 2011

So yesterday was the first of the 5 regional tournament for Fantasy Flight Game's Dust Tactics. I just happen to live down the street from the store so luckily I got to go. Unfortunately only 4 of us showed up. I have a bunch of photos of the tournament. The players were Chris, Lob, Alex (who I runs the scenarios for the play by play with), and myself. The prizes were already preset to be the overall winner gets the Trophy and Certificate, the Allie player with the most points gets the painted Hot Dog, and the Axis player with the most points got the painted Luther. Everyone who showed up automatically received a Dust Tactics Regional Pin, a Dust Tactics Regional Patch, and a Dust Tactics Artwork.We also played 3 of my custom scenarios under the Links sections of this blog. We played King of the Hill, Capture and Control, and Seize Ground. It was 200 points with allowed up to only 1 hero.

I got 1 Draw and 2 Wins, Chris got 2 Draws and 1 Win, Lob got 1 Win, 1 Draw, and 1 Loss, and Alex got 3 Losses. Results: Overall Winner: Myself, Most Points Allies: Chris, Most Points Axis: Alex.
